The hunt doesn't have to end.

Big TreeAbout Us

BuckStalkerTM was developed by Spectrum's Edge, Inc., a small software development company based in Hiltons, Virginia.  I'd like to tell you about our state-of-the-art research facilities, gourmet cafeteria for employees, and thousand-dollar office chairs, but we're pretty much a family-run business.  Our research facilities are the 200 acres we live and hunt on, the gourmet cafeteria (our dining room table) is just as likely to be covered in Legos as it is to have fancy china on it, and our office chairs aren't very expensive, but each one comes with a cat to keep the seat warm for you.  Take that, Google.

What we *do* have is experience in software development.  We've been writing software for engineers, veterinary hospitals, researchers, teachers and insurance companies for over 14 years now, and our applications are installed on tens of thousands of computers around the world.  We know how to make software work, and we know how to make software that's easy to use.

BuckStalker was written to make it easier for us to keep track of the pictures from the scouting cameras we use on our own property - in the software business, that's called 'eating your own dog food'.  That means we've been using BuckStalker ourselves from day one, and we've been making it better every day since then.  We're really proud of BuckStalker, and we think it can help make scouting cameras easier to use for everyone, including computer novices.

This year I was very pleased to kill a 9 point buck I'd been watching on game cameras all summer.  Having BuckStalker made the hunt itself more enjoyable, because when I saw him come out into the open, I *knew* he was the best buck I had on the property.  It was a lot of fun to be able to go back and look at pictures I'd taken of him from back when he still had his velvet all the way to just a few days before I got him.  I realize that a 9 point buck isn't going to set any records, but he was the buck I wanted, and I got him, and a great story to tell when he's hanging on my wall.
